The Richmond Red Devils made the trip to Portland on Monday, Dec. 1, to face the Jay County Patriots in a game that was originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29. The game was a back-and-forth affair with neither team able to hold a lead for most of the game. Neither team shot well in the early going, with the Patriots taking a slim 10-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Devils fought back to tie the score at 24-24 at halftime.
The lead changed hands multiple times in the third quarter before the Patriots broke from a 35-35 tie to build a 41-35 lead. A Richmond 3-pointer at the end of the quarter cut the Red Devil deficit to 41-38 entering the fourth quarter.
Richmond went through a scoring drought of over three minutes in the final period and the Patriots, using a 7-0 run, started to pull away. The Devils made one final run, but fell just short, losing by the final score of 56-53.

Eli Hubbard recorded a double-double to lead the Devils, scoring 20 points and pulling down 18 rebounds. Tyrel Brown scored 11 points and Treston Bennett added 10 points.
Six-foot-9-inch Cole Forthofer led the Patriots with 14 points, 6-foot-8-inch Graden Swoveland scored 13 and Jayden Comer added 11 points.
