John L. Hobbs, 46, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Simon Cancer Center after a courageous battle with leukemia.
John was born July 27, 1977 in Connersville to Lowell “Dannie” and Roberta Ratz Hobbs. He was a 1996 graduate of Connersville High School and received a certificate in graphic design from Indiana University East.
On November 27, 1999, he married the former Rebekah Paddock in New Heights Christian Church. John and Rebekah had a son, John Frank, and a daughter, Eleeona.
For 17 years, John drove flat beds for Fraley and Schilling. He enjoyed driving, tarping, and strapping loads. He also enjoyed training others how to safely secure loads. A friendly, outgoing personality, John was well-liked in the company.
Loving the great outdoors, John enjoyed traveling, fishing, and hunting. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting Cocoa Beach where he could enjoy the ocean. He also cherished time spent with friends and family.
A Christian, John loved the Lord and found peace in God even through the trials he faced.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Rebekah Hobbs; his precious daughter, Eleeona Hobbs; a brother, James (Krystle) Hobbs of Rochester, Indiana; three sisters-in-law, Aimee Paddock and Kiana (Johnathon) Bergen, both of Connersville, and Renee Paddock of Texas; a brother-in-law, Randall (Emily) Long of McCordsville, Indiana; a close friend of the family, Nicole Morris, and her children, Blake, Gabe, Tyler, and Tori; two aunts, Nancy (Joe) Brochin of Connersville and Rita (Phil) Ewers of Missouri; two uncles, Michael (Terri) Ratz of Minnesota and Marion (Cheryl) Carl Towler of Connersville; and nieces and nephews, Hayle, James, and Emalee Hobbs, Lileeana Paddock, Talon and Delilah Ray, Mackenzie and Bryzon Jordan, Sarah and Samantha Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dannie and Roberta Hobbs; his son, John Frank Hobbs who passed away April 2, 2013; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Peggy Paddock.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at PTC Ministries located at 1892 State Rd. 44, Connersville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Russell and Pastor Jeremiah George officiating. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
