BETTY LOU BOHLANDER DANCE: Best mother, grandmother, aunt and friend there ever was. Betty was born in Brookville, Indiana on Feb. 26, 1934, to Harold and Jeannette Bohlander. On June 29, 2023, Betty went peacefully to walk/dance in the garden with her Lord and three children, Jeannette Moore (2011), Donald (2015) and David (1979) Dance.

Those celebrating her reunion: her daughter, Jody King, sons: Dennis (Joy) and Doug Dance, (Jennifer Winters), 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and oh so many which call her mom, Aunt Betty or friend. Betty’s employees and co-workers called her mom or Aunt Betty.

All who knew her sought her approval and respect whether they were close or miles apart. The love of Jesus shone through her which she shared with those around her. She always shared a smile, loved to laugh and dance. Her greatest reward was to be a mom, a grandma and Aunt Betty. Nothing brought her more joy than to spend time with her children and family.

Betty was so full of energy that the energizer bunny could not have kept up with her. She worked hard, laughed often and loved deeply. She mothered many in her life and never forgot them nor did many forget her. Whether it was a smile, a touch or a scolding you felt the love and care she had for you and never forgot it.

Betty was bitten by the carnival bug after her father took his family into the carnival business with pony rides when she was a young girl. Betty started out on her own, with her six children, in the carnival business with food and games and continued operating games with her son, Doug, on Poor Jack Amusements until 2022.

Betty Lou, Betty Boop, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Betty or Miss Betty, which ever title you knew her by she will live on in each and everyone she touched.

Betty was a follower of Jesus, a life member of the International Independent Showman’s Association, a member of the Milton Christian Church and Gibsonton Baptist Church as well as a member of the Riverview Moose Lodge. Should you wish to make a memorial contribution do so to the Milton Christian Church or church of your choice or an organization that benefits children.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Riverview Hackney Cemetery in Riverview, Florida.
