William “Bill” W. Misner Jr., peacefully passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at Independence Village of Fishers, just weeks after celebrating his 96th birthday.

Bill was born in Richmond, Indiana, to William W. and Margaret Zwerner Misner. He was a 1944 graduate of Richmond High School and attended Earlham College. He completed B-29 gunner training in preparation to serve his country in World War II, but the war ended before his deployment. He retired as Vice-President of Richmond Gas Corporation, completing 46 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Survivors include his daughter, Sue (Greg) Shields of Fishers, Indiana; son, William (Janet) Misner of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, William (Heather) Davis, Wayne Davis (Elisabeth Charles), Alex (Jenny) Davis, Amanda (Fred) Jack, Annie (Ryan) Mikesell, and Ashley Shields; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Neva Duke of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and Tina Petro, Pam Miller and Tim and Vicki Cahoon, whom he considered family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ellen Misner; parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Harvey) Gustin, Juanita (Richard) Thomas, Mary (John) Hupp, and Helen Atwell.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
