Roger LaFollette Sr. 77, of Connersville, died Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his residence.
Born September 26, 1944 in Batesville to Ernest and Mary Priddy LaFollette. Roger proudly served his country joining the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting; he was an avid member of the North American Hunting Club and the NRA. In his early years, Roger enjoyed coaching t-ball and baseball serving as the Vice President of the T-Ball Association. In his leisure time, he liked feeding squirrels in the park, fishing, talking politics, and driving around to visit with his kids and grandkids. Roger will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Roger is survived by his children: Dennis Horan of Rhode Island, Jan LaFollette of Rushville, Lori (Scott) Kimble of Centerville, Ernie (Stacy) LaFollette of Connersville, Roger LaFollette Jr. of Connersville; brothers: Steve (Joann)LaFollette of Connersville, Greg Schmude of Wisconsin; sisters: Kay Roberts of Connersville, Kathy (Robert) Slayback of Indianapolis, Mary (Dave) Lynch of Milan, Kim (Jody) Fledderman of Batesville; fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his brother: Jim LaFollette. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Friends may visit the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Parks Department to cover registration fees for children who wish to play ball, but cannot afford it.
