Phyllis Bullock died of a long illness, on March 23, 2022 at Golden Living Care Center. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Elden and Marie (Richardson) Estes. She was raised in Irvine, Kentucky by her mother and step-father Uri Hackworth. She went to school in a one room schoolhouse and spent most of her childhood in a two room house with her mom and step-dad and only brother, Olin Estes.

She married young and had four children Rose Marie (Patterson) Boyd (Alan), Ricky Patterson, Sharon Hackworth, and James Sizemore. In 1974 she married the love of her life Albert Bullock and they had a son, Doug Bullock (Jayma).

She worked in the service industry for many years of her life. Starting in her teens and twenties at truck stop restaurants and Linx Restaurant in Richmond, Indiana. She worked several years in management for Pizza Hut in all locations in Richmond, Indiana. Her and her husband Al started a family business (A&P Wholesale) that ran for over 30 years until his retirement. Later in life after the death of her son Jimmy, she started working with people who had learning and developmental disabilities. She worked for Achieva and Green Acres until retirement. She created a program to get the clients out of the group homes and become more independent. She was very proud of her achievements in that field.

She had five children, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, sons Jimmy and Ricky, all of her aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-laws, and special friends Paul Linkous and Joan Webber. She will be cremated and placed at the Dayton VA cemetery and joined by her husband at his death.
