Paul Angelo DeLucio, Richmond, was born March 23, 1932 to Marco (Mike) and Carmella DeLucio peacefully entered into eternal life on April 16, 2022. He was the tenth of fourteen children born to them and was always surrounded by love and hard work. He began working in the family’s construction business at the early age of 8, and much like his father never stopped. You could always find him messing around on some type of tractor on the farms. Later in life, he became a partner of Mike DeLucio and Son with his brothers.
After graduating from high school, he was set up on a blind date by some friends to what would become his sweetheart and the love of his life. On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1951 he married Romaine Luerman and they started their lives together. He was a hard worker for his dad and brother and provided for his growing family.
Paul was a compassionate, generous, humble man. If there was ever a time he saw someone in need, he would do it for them. Always quietly, rarely asking for any recognition at all. He gave generously to the entire community, donating work, resources and/or money when the need was there. Paul was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 103 and Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA).
He loved his family and the family loved him. The greatest joy was when he was taking the kids on tractor rides. The smiles and memories are precious memories. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Frances Romaine Luerman Delucio, two sons- Paul Thomas “Tom” (Cindy) and Richard Allen “Rick” (Gloria) DeLucio, and two daughters- Joan Marie (Gary) Woodruff and Paula Romaine (Patrick M) Ripberger, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren and 4 step-great great grandchildren, brother- Robert “Bob” (Nancy) sister Sue (George) Stallings, sister-in-laws- Onda DeLucio, Judy DeLucio, Jean Krebs, and Mary Anita Coblentz. He was predeceased by his parents, 7 sisters, 4 brothers, and 2 grandchildren- Paul Jason and Kimberly Ann DeLucio.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Reid Hospital 4 East for the excellent care and compassion to Paul in his last days and to our family.
