Martin “Wayne” Stockton, 82, of Modoc went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond.

He was born on September 20, 1939 in Albany, KY, a son of the late Martin Van and Roxie (Craig) Stockton.

Wayne married the love of his life, Nancy Jeanette Williams, on June 4, 1963 at a furniture store in Jamestown, TN. A month later Wayne and Nancy moved to Indiana and started their new life. They often traveled back to Albany, KY to visit family and attend the Foothills Festival. Wayne worked for several casket manufacturing companies over the years before retiring from JM Hutton in Richmond. He enjoyed buying homes to remodel and rent and more recently enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Tammy (husband: Mike Jr.) Straley of Lynn, Becky (husband: Dave) Tinsman of Losantville and Lisa (husband: Scott) Hensley of Winchester; six grandchildren, Michael Straley III, Matt (wife: Miranda) Straley, Miles (wife: Macey) Straley, Davey (wife: Taylor) Tinsman, Austin (wife: Becca) Tinsman and Zane Tinsman; six great-grandchildren, Lilah Tinsman, Wade Straley, Winsley Straley, Charleigh Tinsman, Riley Straley and Callie Tinsman; four siblings, Margaret Hart, Alice Davidson, Lanny (wife: Kathy) Stockton and Bruce (wife: Doris) Stockton; sisters-in-law, Joyce Stockton, Carol Stockton, Shirley Melton, Carol Burchett and Judy Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Jeanette Stockton; three siblings, Peggy Stearns, Howard Stockton and Jimmy Stockton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle with Pastor Adam Sewell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Losantville.
