Marshall Daugherty, age 96, passed away on Friday March 4, 2022 at The Springs of Richmond. He was born in Darke County, Ohio on July 4, 1925 to Russell and Esther (Alexander) Daugherty. Marshall was a high school graduate and a WWII Navy veteran as a Gunner in the Armed Guard Division. He was married to Lois Alexander in the Cedar Grove Church parsonage on September 10, 1949 and were married 69 years. They had raised Registered Jersey Cows on their dairy farm for over 40 years. At the farm sale, some of the cows sold to countries as far as Brazil. Marshall was the last living member of the Hollansburg South End gang. He was also a member of the Optimist Club, was a part of the Yoke Fellows Bible Study, volunteered at the Rose Garden and at Circle U Help Center. Marshall was a lifelong member of the Whitewater Christian Church and was loved dearly by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Nancy Hodges and Sally (Jeff) Hughes; grandchildren Jon (Sara) Hodges, Christopher Hodges and Evan (Abby) Hodges; great grandchildren Lily and Isla Hodges. In addition to his parents, Marshall is preceded in death by his sister Opal Ellis and son-in-law Robert Hodges.
A memorial service will be held at Whitewater Christian Church on Monday March 7, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be held in Palestine Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is handling arrangements.
