Marilyn Jean Holthouse passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 2, 2022, at the age of 93 in her hometown of Richmond, IN.

She was born to Gerald and Mary Roberts on February 18, 1928. During her teenage years, she sang, danced, and played the xylophone in Jack Krakowski’s Xylophone traveling band. She married her high school sweetheart “Bud” Holthouse with whom she had four sons, Steve, Dan, Mark, and Jerry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, S.L. (Bud) Holthouse, her son Mark Holthouse, and her sister Joanne Robson. She is survived by her sons Steve Holthouse (Jeanie Swafford) of Richmond, IN, Dan Holthouse (Deborah) of Lake Placid, FL, and Jerry Holthouse (Caryl) of Murfreesboro, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott, Amy, Anji, Christie, Paul, Kayla, and Jake, and many great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was a homemaker who loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She was a skilled seamstress, making clothes for her family and friends until she was 90 years old. She enjoyed her bridge groups, where she was an avid player. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
