James Clifford Flynn, 81, of Spiceland, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born May 23, 1941 in Burnside, Kentucky, a son of the late Noley Claude Flynn and Katherine (Brooks) Johns.
James was a graduate of New Castle High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of Spiceland Methodist Church. James retired from Ingersoll Steel, after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting & golf and will especially be missed by his Yorkie “Gizzie”.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Rosenburger of Brookville, IN and Terry (Dave) Warwick of New Castle; a stepson, Edward T. Haymaker of Shirley; grandchildren, Jason Clements, Elizabeth Robertson, Coleson Houston, D.J. Warwick and Matthew Warwick; nine great grandchildren; companion, Wilma Massengale; siblings, Robin Asberry, Connie Flynn, Janet Davis, Floyd Flynn, Ricky Flynn, Nancy Southerland, Etta Watson and Harold Flynn; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Darleen Flynn; two sons, Christopher Flynn and Gregory Flynn; a daughter, Sherry Flynn; grandson, Joshua Clements; brother, Ralph Flynn; and two sisters, Vickie Flynn Cane & Judy Flynn.
Services will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Circle Grove Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
