Howard W. Weist, age 81 of New Paris, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Born on May 17, 1940 in Preble County, Ohio, son of the late Louis W. & Blanche W. (Wheeler) Weist.
Howard graduated in 1958 from Monroe High School. He retired in 1991 from the Dana Corp. in Richmond, Indiana after 32 years of service. He was a Preble County Farmer for many years. Member of the Preble County Farm Bureau. Member of the NRA.
Howard loved his grandkids and great grandkids. He also loved to travel with his wife, Patty around the USA.
Preceded by his son, Douglas Wesley “Doug” Weist in 1978; brothers, Ralph E. Weist, Kenneth R. Weist, Lowell R. Weist and Frances M. Weist; sisters, Isabelle L. Harris and Treva Kreider.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Patty (Elliott) Weist; daughters & sons-in-law, Cynthia & Lance Vitatoe of Milton, Indiana and Angie & Brian Rhodus of New Paris, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law, Gail & Clemmie Weist of Middletown, Ohio; sister & brother-in-law, Carol & Charles Mitchell, Jr. of Eaton, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Joan Weist of Richmond, Indiana and Cathy Weist of New Madison, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris & James Byrd, Joni & Ramon Rutan, Tyler & Whitney Rhodus, Tanner Rhodus and Tessa Rhodus; great grandchildren, JaLynn & Wyatt Murphey, Evan Byrd, Micaiah Byrd, Avery Rutan, Zachery Rutan, Scarlett Rutan, Christian Rutan, Gunner Howard Rhodus and Barrett Rhodus; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. Rodney Shelley officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home in Lewisburg, Ohio.
