Frances I. Woods, 96, born in Farmland, Indiana, March 21, 1926. She was the daughter of Reuben Cole, and Mabel Irene Shaw.
She married Junior C Woods, June of 1944, who passed away in 1993. She was retired from Union Trust Bank after 25 years of service. She worked in Real Estate for several years and was a charter member of Ad-a-Link Club, a group of graduates of Lincoln High School. She attended Peaceful Valley Friends Church and was a member of Peaceful Valley Ladies Aid. She also helped manage and worked the family farm.
Surviving are a son, Charles E. Woods and wife Donna, of Union City. 2 daughters, Marjorie L. Gommel, Husband Dan, of Orlando, Florida, and Karen E. Napier, of Jackson, Kentucky, and Daughter-in-law Karen L. (Woods) Hiatt, Husband Dan. A Brother, Lloyd Shaw, wife Mona, of Zephyrhills, Florida. 11 grandchildren and 12 great-Grandchildren, 3 great-great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a Son, James R. Woods, Grandson Nicholas Lundell, Brother Harold Shaw, sister Norma Shaw.
Frances graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Sinclair College, Ball State and IU East. Frances enjoyed crocheting and sharing special items with family and friends. She loved to cook big meals for the family, serve in her church, and at work taking care of clients and customers. She touched so many lives and will be missed by many who loved her.
A service to celebrate Frances’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Peaceful Valley Friends Church, 5518 S. 500 E, Lynn, IN 47355 with Pastor Charlene Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Maxville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 12:00 p.m. to service time on Thursday, at the church. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thomas Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at The Lodge at Summers Pointe and Pineknoll Rehabilitation Center.
