Evelyn May Harris, 91, of Greens Fork passed away on January 6, 2022. She was born July 23, 1930 to Charles and Sylvia Tillson/Bane. She was a graduate of Greens Fork High School in 1948. She met the love of her life her senior year of high school at a Halloween party, Reide Harris, with whom she was married on June 18, 1949, until his passing in 2012.
They both loved farming their entire lives, raising cattle and hogs, while growing crops and teaching their children and grandchildren the great values of life, and setting a wonderful example of the true meaning of love. Evelyn was a loving wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and one of 14 siblings. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Diana (Delynn) Stults, Connie (Bruce) Watts; grandchildren, Daniel Stults, Heidi Lipscomb, Heather Towns, Dana Shelley, Dee Ann Bragg, Darla Peters, Brian Watts, and Brittan Watts; and 16 great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
Siblings- Gerald (Cornelia) Bane, Lucille Coddington, Rosalee (Claude) Caudle, Charles (Ruth) Bane, Delores George, Juanita Carter, Karen (Ed) Miller, Linda Bane (Bob), Kathy (Gary) Adamson. Sisters-in-law- Patricia Bane and Helen Harris.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reide Harris, brothers Maurice Bane and Kenneth Bane, sisters Marjorie McMullen and Marcia Campbell, sisters- in-law – Evelyn Bane, Nancy Bane, Barbara Ellison, Dorothy Harris, and Thelma Harris, brothers-in-law – Ronald Coddington, Reginald McMullen, Paul George, Mickie Cromis, Roy Harris, Robert Harris and Stan Carter.
Public visitation will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM; with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM with Roger Martin officiating.
