Doris I. (Bane) Beckley, age 85, of Lynn, Indiana, died Friday, May 27, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born April 23, 1937, in Wayne County, Indiana, to Harry S. and May Tillson Bane, Doris was a life-long resident of this area. On February 18, 1967, she married Eugene Beckley and they had recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. She was a homemaker, she loved the Lord and her family, and she was known as a strong woman of faith and a prayer warrior. Doris had worked in ministries such as Birthright and Heart to Heart for over 40 years, and in addition, started many food pantries and clothing ministries. She loved nature and watching the birds, squirrels, and baby bunnies.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Beckley; son, David (Wendy) Beckley of Lynn; daughters, Cindy (Chuck) Elmore of Hagerstown, Indiana and Carla (Danny) Stamper of Greens Fork, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Haisley of Anderson, Indiana; sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of Fountain City, Indiana; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; cousins; many friends; and her grand-dogs, Sadie and Auggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Clayton Haisley; grandson, Dustin Stamper; and sister and brother-in-law, Floyd and Joyce Weimer.
Visitation for Doris I. Beckley will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery.
