Centerville resident, Dena Rae House, 52, slipped away peacefully Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at their home wrapped in the arms of her husband .
Dena was born to Richard D. “Dick” Wilcox and Glenda Faye Harrison on August 1, 1969. She graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1987, and furthered her education at Indiana Business College. Dena married her high school sweetheart, Brian House, at Old North Chapel in Richmond, on July 11, 1992. Dena had been a dance instructor for Dixon Dance Studio and Arthur Murray and for nearly 20 years worked in the food service industry. She was a member of the Eta Pi Kappa Sorority. A Cub Scout leader for several years. Dena was an devoted animal lover, holding a special place in her heart for every pet she was ever around. She enjoyed gardening, even though her thumb wasn’t very green. Dena had an adventurous spirit. She loved to go on vacations and has traveled all over the country. Whether by jeep, motorhome, car, or plane, it didn’t matter, she would be collecting rocks along the way.
Above all, she adored her loving family and cherished every moment with them. Dena will be greatly missed by all who know and love her.
In addition to her mother and husband of 29 years, Dena is survived by her daughter: Bridia and her husband Chris Morgan of Clayton, Ohio; son: Tyler House of Richmond; brother: Richard D. “Rick” Wilcox and his wife Rachel of Connersville; step-mother: Elsie Wilcox; six grandchildren: Micheal James, Conner Brian, Aria Briann, Arlyn J., Shelby Rae, and Jude Marjorie; several nieces and nephews; and of course Tonya- along with many other friends.
In addition to her father, Dena is preceded in death by step-dad: Robert “Bob” King.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00p.m. Thursday January 6, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Rick Melugin officiating. Per Dena’s request, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m., until the time of service. The family would like to thank each and every
