Delois Jewett, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Delois was born on June 12, 1940, in Grundy, West Virginia, to Thomas and Martha Norman White. She moved to Indiana at the age of 10 and lived here for the rest of her life. Delois enjoyed playing bingo, spending time at the campground, and playing hostess to her family and close friends. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved cheering them on at all of their concerts, plays, and sporting events.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Jewett Sr.; children, Patricia Taylor, Charles (LaVonne) Jewett Jr., Sherry (Rick) Carpenter, and Rhonda (Paul) Fisher, all of Richmond; grandchildren, Jaci Taylor, Brian Taylor, Markous (Ashley) Jewett, Sherrilyn (Eddie) Wigginton, and Charles (Whitney) Jewett III; great-grandchildren, Briauna (Correy), Chase, Lauren, Jordynn, Allie, Spencer, Miles, Paige, Ruella, Ryleigh, and Esme; sisters, Nina (Phil) Miles of New Castle, Indiana, and Norma (Don) Mounts of Richmond; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Lee, Arlene White, Christine Jones, and Esaw, Paul, and Edgar White.
A Celebration of Life for Delois Jewett will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, 900 North E Street, Suite 200, Richmond. Private burial will be in Earlham Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
