Daryl Thomas King, age 61, of Centerville, Indiana, died Monday, March 14, 2022.

Born April 2, 1960, in Richmond, Indiana, to Walter E. and Eileen Toschlog King, Daryl was a life-long resident of Wayne County, Indiana. He was a truck driver for Co-Alliance. Daryl previously retired from Laborers, Local 1047 and had worked at Thoroseal and the Recycling Center. He was a hard worker, and everyone loved working with him. Daryl always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed kidding around and making people laugh. Daryl had a hobby farm and liked his animals. Above all, he loved spending time at home with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shirley Waltenburg King; children, Shelly Dixon of Richmond, Sarah (Mac) Gerkin of Cambridge City, Indiana, and Darren (Paula Kay) King of Centerville; grandchildren, Devin, Savanna, Samantha, and DeWayne Dixon, Marie, Sydney, Mac, Franklin, and James Gerkin, and Kerrigan and Kendrick King; great-grandson, Torrian Dixon; mother, Eileen King of Cambridge City; twin brother, Dallas (Rhonda) King of Economy, Indiana; additional siblings, Karen (Ed) Morris of Columbus, Indiana, Krista Valentine of Circleville, Ohio, Pam (Dana) Overbay of Dublin, Indiana, Mike (Carol) King of Richmond, Ginny (Mike) Brandenburg of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Lynn (Charlie) Davis of New Salisbury, Indiana; nieces; nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Sharon Waltenburg; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Denver A. King, who died November 1, 2008; father; brother, John King; brothers-in-law, Don Noble and Merle Valentine; and nephew, Nathan King.

Visitation for Daryl Thomas King will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Avenue, Centerville. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Centerville Christian Church with Pastor Logan Thompson officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
