Darrell G. Barnett, age 66, Richmond, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pensacola, Florida, on July 10, 2022.
Born December 22, 1955, in Marion County, Indiana, to Gene O. and Bonnie Bowman Schmidt Barnett, Darrell was a 1974 graduate of Centerville High School. He attended Cumberland University in Williamsburg, Kentucky from 1977 until 1979. Darrell worked in construction most of his career. Darrell retired from the Indiana University Architectural office in Bloomington, where he worked as the construction project manager from July of 1998 until January 2011. He was owner of Construction Management and Consulting since 2011. Darrell was an avid golfer, loved fishing, and was a fan of all kinds of sports.
Survivors include his son, Brandon (Krista) Barnett; daughter, Brittany (Harrison) Aaron; grandchildren, Olivia and Gemma Barnett, and Macy and Marshall Aaron; brothers, Gary (Debbie) Barnett and Rick (Rhonda) Barnett; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Kyle; father, Gene Barnett; mother, Bonnie Schmidt; stepfather, Herman Schmidt; brother, Randy Barnett; and grandparents.
Memorial visitation for Darrell G. Barnett will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, Indiana. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Doddridge Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
