Carolyn Ruthann Slaven, age 75, of Lynn, Indiana, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born June 17, 1947, in Winchester, Indiana, to William “Bill” Earl Fisher and Nellie Mae Henry Fisher, Carolyn was a life-long resident of this area. She married Donald Grady Slaven on September 8, 1979. Carolyn was a 1965 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She worked in retail at Kmart for many years. Carolyn was a member of the Chapelwood Baptist Church and she ministered with the Gospel Pilgrim Singers. Carolyn loved cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Earl Fisher; daughter, Catherine (David) Harris of Lynn, Indiana; grandchildren, Lance, Morgan, and Wendy; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Ann Slaven; sister, Dorothy Tomey; and brothers, Harold Fisher and Roy Fisher.
Visitation for Carolyn Ruthann Slaven will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Goshen Cemetery with Rev. Russell Fraley officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
