Anita R. Slagle, age 62, of Connersville, IN passed away Monday August 22, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born August 7, 1960, in Hamilton County Ohio, a daughter to Oswald and Paula Schettler Schindler. Anita graduated from Coleraine High School and was employed with Kroger Corporation for over thirty years. She was a member of Germania Society of Ohio.
Anita loved her grandchildren and took advantage of any time she could spend with them. She enjoyed sewing, watching Bengals football and was a huge drag racing fan, always following John Force and his teams. Anita loved the mountains and was able to live in the Gatlinburg, TN area for several years. She had the privilege of visiting one of her favorite places, Germany, several times.
Survived to cherish the memories of Anita are four children: Christina (Brian) Stephens of North Vernon, Staci (Josh) Eckstein of Sunman, Michael McLaughlin Jr. of Connersville, Jessica (Mike Watson) McLaughlin of Aurora; thirteen grandchildren; brother, Robert (Sue) Schindler of Ohio and sister, Debra (Milt) Perry of Ohio. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Oswald and Paula Schindler and niece Katy Schindler.
Friends and family are invited to show love and support at a memorial visitation Friday August 26th, 2022, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home – 107 Vine St. Sunman, IN. A private burial will take place at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Nicholas Catholic Church Heritage Project.
