William O. Gamber, 87, of Greens Fork, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 4, 2021, following a short battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Greens Fork on March 2, 1934 to William and Iona (Hopping) Gamber. He graduated from Greens Fork High School in May, 1953. Bill was drafted into the US Army in 1956. While serving, he was stationed in Germany. On August 8, 1959 he married Betty L. Bell in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Gamber; a son, Orvy Gamber of Greens Fork; 2 daughters, Becky (John) Wysong of Richmond and Rose (Jeff) Harrison of Liberty; 6 grandchildren, Stephanee Johnson of Middletown, Jeffrey (Carrie) Harrison of Hagerstown, Tim (Alyssa) Wysong of Richmond, Justin (Megan) Harrison of Ft. Campbell, KY, Ben (Malory) Wysong of Eaton, IN and Austin Harrison of Liberty; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doris Ladd of Centerville, Marilynn Dennis of Hagerstown and Gayle Mikesell of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 8. Pastor Troy Caudill will officiate. There will be no public calling.
