William “Bill” H. Kincaid III, 79, of New Castle passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1942 in Connersville to the late William H. Kincaid II and Melissa (Benedict) Pritchett.
Bill was a 1960 graduate of Mississinewa High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served 4 years during the Cuban Crisis and early Vietnam War where he made several runs up and down the Hanoi River. Bill retired from Chrysler Corporation following 36 years of service and was a lifetime NRA member. He loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, watching them show at 4-H, trap shooting with his sons in law and grandchildren, his dogs and miniature donkeys. Bill also loved the Smoky Mountains and traveling to Pigeon Forge several times a year. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the local union hall #371.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy L. Kincaid; children, Lon (Lois) Kincaid, Rick (Cindy) Kincaid, Kelly Benematti, Shannon (Steve) Heady; grandchildren, Randy (Denise) Kincaid, Abby Kincaid, Shelly Ballard, Heather (Abel) Alvarado, Paige (Wes) Grim, Clay Kincaid (Macy), Steven Heady (Courtney), Peyton Benematti (Nick), Sierra Heady (Cody); great grandchildren, Devin, Abel, Ty, Charlotte and two on the way; a brother, John Kincaid and Dawn Ploch, mother of Heather and Clay.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepdad, William V. Pritchett; and a grandson, Jason Kincaid.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion/VFW Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held Saturday at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County 4-H.
