Surrounded by his loving family, Theodore (Ted) May Jr., Richmond, peacefully passed from his mortal life at the age of 87 on September 19, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Bonnie) Davis May. Ted is survived by his children; Terri (Jeff) Riley, Jeff (Vicki)May, Andy May, Brian (Barb) May, Jenny (Mark) Engle, 10 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Ted loved and enjoyed time with his family at his home or traveling to visit them where ever they might be. He enjoyed hosting picnics and cookouts where he told stories and jokes and brought smiles and laughter to all. Ted was a humble man, yet he loved to share the joys and accomplishments of his family. He enjoyed the peace and tranquility of a lake, and of course hooking the big one.
He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a current member, and former Master, of the Whitewater Masonic Lodge #159. As a member of the Tarum Shrine his passion was helping children. Ted transported many children and families to the Shriners Hospitals in Cincinnati, Lexington, Louisville and Chicago.
In honor and memory of Ted May Jr., A memorial visitation will take place at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, 32 S 11th St. Richmond, IN, on Thursday September 23, 2021 from 4-7 PM with a Masonic Memorial service to follow. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
