Theodore Lewis “Ted” Alcorn Jr., 64, of New Castle went to be with Jesus on Friday morning, March 26, 2021, at his residence. He was born October 8, 1956 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Theodore Lewis Sr. and Mary Anne (Herrera) Alcorn.

He attended New Castle High School and Ivy Tech and was a veteran of the US Navy & Army. Ted served as a Park Ranger at Memorial Park and was co-owner of Happy Days Restaurant and formerly at Bills Diner. He also had worked at Cracker Barrel. Ted was a charter member of Open Arms Church and had attended Grand Avenue Baptist Church as well as Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the YMCA, enjoyed playing basketball, softball, reading and loved Andy Griffith Show. Ted was known for giving people nicknames and he was known as the “chairman of the boards”

Survivors include his wife of nearly 34 years, Deborah (Davis) “Fly” Alcorn; daughters, Andrea “Jolly” (Rob) Reagan of New Castle, Bethany “Pow Wow” (Nicholas) Mason of Jacksonville, Florida, Brooke “Boxer” Alcorn (Dustin Riggs) of Cadiz and Katie “Poor Tiny” Alcorn of Greenfield; son, Ryan “Pal or Sub” (Fran) Alcorn of Stafford, Virginia; grandchildren, Kailyn “Chicken” Reagan, Eadayn “Pocket” Reagan, Jaiden, Alaina, Natalie Mason, Samantha “Sammie” Alcorn, Donnie Vitto, Xach “Oats ole’ buddy” Dudley, Olivia “Red planet” Dudley; siblings, Debi Nafziger of Lawrence, Linda Alcorn of New Castle; five brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law; mother and father-in-law, Bill “Moon shooter” and Jewel “Backslider” Davis of New Castle; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Henry County Hospice, Lisa, Justin, Mary, Sandy, Crystal, Monica, Rhonda and Mark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him; Thomas & Ora Alcorn; sister, Lisa Diane Lyall; and sisters-in-law, Patti Scholl, Kathy Dicken and Kathy Davis; grandson, Xavier Dudley.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Paul “Nosey the Clown” Davis, Ricky “Ralph” Davis & Brock “Shop Intestines” Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30th in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition with a contingent of the US Navy, VFW and American Legion.
