Sharon Gay Owens Meade, age 69, a New Castle resident, went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2021. She was a patient at Ball Hospital Muncie, Indiana. She was born July 27, 1951 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of Arnold and June Dishman Owens.
She was a New Castle resident all her life and was a 1969 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She attended I.U. East in Richmond, Indiana and was a graduate of Ivy Tech. She retired from Henry Community Health after 25 years of service. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in New Castle and attended several bible studies. She enjoyed family activities and spending time with her family and friends. Sharon was known for her beautiful smile and will always be remembered as a very unselfish person who had her heart and home open to anyone in need.
Left to cherish her loving memory include a daughter, Emily June Meade of New Castle; twin granddaughters, Olivia June Meade and Savannah Jo Meade, both of New Castle; two sisters, Sheila (husband, David) Swails, Charlene (husband, Gary) Hale; twin brother, Steve Owens; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 709 South Memorial Drive with Reverend Jerry Ingalls officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial services will be live-streamed on Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home facebook page.
