She spent most of her working years at Kroger, where she was in charge of the general merchandise department. Phyllis took lots of pride and joy in her job until her health forced her into early retirement. Over the years Phyllis enjoyed decorating her home, especially for Halloween and Christmas. She was phenomenal cook and over the years honed her skills by using former coworker’s family and friends as guinea pigs. She enjoyed drives listening to classic rock, like the Beatles and the Eagles, as well as newer artist like Match Box 20 (Rob Thomas) and Pink. Phyllis enjoyed traveling as well. Having been to several islands in the Caribbean, Canada, and Florida and most recently to the Outer Banks. She loved the sound of the ocean and watching the waves and warm temperatures. There is nothing about Phyllis that won’t be missed, no words can describe the emptiness her loss leaves for those that loved her. Her greatest legacy will always be how much she loved those around her. Goodbye mom, grandma, sister and friend. Our world will never be the same now that you’re gone.
