Paul Harvey, beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, brother and uncle, passed on March 10, 2021 at age 75 in Battle Creek, MI. Preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Harvey and father, John Harvey (both of Richmond), Paul graduated from Richmond High School in 1964, then Earlham College in 1968.

Upon graduation, he began his elementary teaching career in Battle Creek. Soon afterwards, he met the love of his life, Betty Peck, and they married in July 1971…joining with son Kevin (age 6) to create their family together.

Throughout his life, Paul was dedicated to being of service, such as several years of mentoring and helping at-risk teenagers and young men build confidence in life and serving as a long-time member of Kiwanis. That love for helping both kids and adults succeed in life sparked a mid-career change to Director of Youth Development at the Battle Creek YMCA, where he also led their Clear Lake Camps for several years. Later on, Paul and Betty owned a variety of home businesses, the most-loved of which was a successful tutoring service for the last 25+ years. They’ve also provided a loving home for countless rescued pets.

Paul is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Betty; son Kevin Harvey (wife, Leslie), Long Beach, CA; grandsons, Trayer Harvey, Los Angeles, and Paden Harvey, Long Beach; in addition to two brothers, Dave Harvey (wife, Deb) of Dayton, OH and Tim Harvey (wife, Rita) of Crossville, TN; and two sisters, Verna Tweddale of Philadelphia, PA and Cindy Hankins (husband, Lee) of Spring, TX. Add to that several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, and he was truly blessed!

A memorial visitation will be held in Battle Creek on Friday, March 19 (www.BaxterFuneral.com).
