Patricia S. “Patty” Carter Ford, age 87, a New Castle resident, went to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father, Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was born September 7, 1934 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Arnett Grogg.
She was a lifelong resident of New Castle and a 1952 graduate of New Castle High School. Patty was retired from Modernfold Industries after 44 years of service. She was also a homemaker and treasured being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Patty was an active member of the Assembly of God Church where she was involved in several areas of ministry including volunteering at the Shepherd’s Door Food Pantry. She loved family activities and enjoyed bowling, quilting, fishing, boating, traveling, and watching Colts Football and golf on television. Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Fred Ford, whom she married November 20, 1982; two sons, Steve and Kevin Carter; three stepchildren, Tammy Sparks (husband, Jeff) of New Castle, Sherri Wells of New Castle, Fritz Ford (wife, Leah) also of New Castle, Indiana; grandchildren from the Ford side, Brad Sparks, Courtney Lacy (husband, Chris), Ammi Wells, Josh Wells, Bryce Wells-Hudson, Gabe Wells, Jakeb Wells, Derick Ford (fiance’ Sarah Loesch), Angel Anderson (husband, Kyle); five great-grandchildren; grandchildren from the Carter side, Julie Carter, Janelle (Andy) Lamb, Jared (Kaleigh) Carter, Aubrey Latham, Megan (Adam) Rice, Ashley Carter (fiance’ Jason Walker), Krystyn (Austin) Aucion, TJ Mayes, Kristie Diehm; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Carter; two sisters, Betty Ann Osborne and Jean Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church, 3600 South Memorial Drive, New Castle, Indiana with Reverend Steve Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m., until service time Tuesday at the church.
