Melissa Logan Rees, age 53 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 7th, 2021. Melissa was born on May 28th, 1968 and was the daughter of Homer E. Logan and the late Helen Heck Logan.
She graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1986. She was a very proud mother and Logan was the light of her life, she was so proud of the man he was becoming. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, playing bingo, and singing karaoke.
She is survived by her father, Homer Logan; one son, Logan Rees; a sister, Shannon Logan; two nieces, Lacey Ross (Jimmy Langdon), Megan Saunders; four nephews, Ryan Duvall (Heather Duvall), Matthew Sarten (Kenzie Hacker), Tyler Ross, and Nicholas Sarten; four great-nephews, Kasyn, Kamdyn, and Paxtyn Duvall, and Abel Langdon; three great-nieces, Kinsleigh Belcher, Madeline and Alaina Sarten. They were a huge part of her life and she loved every moment she had with them. She is also survived by her dear friends, David & Sherry Slaven, Dawn Rees, & Annette Richardson-Brown
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Logan; her brother, Billy Sarten and partner, Richard Wagner.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-Westlawn addition. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m, until service time at the funeral home.
