Marjorie Katherine “Marge” Montgomery, age 99, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at her home.

Born July 17, 1921, in Centerville, Indiana, to Harry and Ruby Hanley Shobe, Marge lived in this community most of her life. She retired from NATCO, where she worked as an executive secretary. Following retirement, Marge worked at Plastics Machinery Technology. She was an avid college and professional sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Purdue Boilermakers.

Survivors include her children, David Harvey of Centerville, Nancy (Frank) Harvey-Presley of Richmond, Indiana, and Glade (Betsy) Montgomery II of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Mark Vickers of Centerville, Marianne Lingg of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kate Soffner of Charleston, South Carolina, Reece Montgomery of Columbia, South Carolina, Brandon Huffer of Lafayette, and Kendall O’Neill of Richmond, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Ruby, Maryn, and Quincy Huffer and Knox and Emma O’Neill; step-great-grandchildren, Bryce and Alexa Lingg; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Caleb Harvey, who died in November 1957; second husband, Glade Montgomery, who died in January 2014; parents; and sisters, Everone “Tony” Hawkins and Jean Vitatoe.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the loving and gentle care they gave to their mother.

Visitation for Marjorie Katherine “Marge” Montgomery will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
