Born April 2, 1930, in Eaton, Ohio, to Christian M. and Anna B. Ott Fudge, Jo lived in Richmond most of her life. She was a 1948 graduate of Eaton High School. Jo worked as an office manager at Earlham College for 29 years, before retiring in 1995. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where she was once very involved, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Jo was also a member of the Richmond Senior Community Center. She formerly served as chairman of the PTA and was the precinct chairman of the American Cancer Society. Jo enjoyed reading, taking walks, and traveling, including two of her favorite places Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandkids and granddog, Lizzie.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Pollitt of New Lebanon, Ohio; sons, Paul Wesley Storer and Charles C. “Chuck” Storer, both of Richmond; grandchildren, Nathan (Shanna) Pollitt, Zachary (Sacha) Pollitt, Frances Storer, and Alan Storer; great-granddaughters, Madison and Sara Beth; great-grandsons, Lex, Dean, and Zane; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul E. Storer, who died September 22, 2017; daughter-in-law, Mary Storer; great-granddaughter; parents; sisters, Evelyn Millikin and Pauline Borgwardt; and brother, Glenn Fudge.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rosebud Village for the wonderful care they gave to Jo.
Visitation for Josephine Jane “Jo” Storer will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Chip Belanga officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
