John Farquhar Blossom, 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 2, 2021. Mr. Blossom was the son of Dr. Paul W. Blossom and Harriet Farquhar Blossom. He is survived by his brother Robert Blossom of Lake Mary, FL, Patricia Weiss Blossom, his wife of 67 years. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Cynthia Blossom (Bob Holley) of Houston, Texas and Carolyn Shackelford (Mike Shackelford) of Spartanburg, SC and two grandchildren Megan and Nathan Shackelford.
He was a graduate of Richmond High School in Richmond, Indiana and the University of Miami in Miami, Fl. He worked for 27years for the NBC affiliate in Miami as a television producer and director. He and Patricia then operated a card and gift shop for 20 years. Having lived in both Florida and South Carolina, he was an active member of several Lutheran churches.
The family will be holding a private service on November 24th at the columbarium of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spartanburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
