John E. Murray, age 86, of Connersville, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at his home.
Born January 18, 1935, in Clay County, Kentucky, to John Henry and America Hensley Murray, John lived in Connersville most of his life. He retired from D&M (Design & Manufacturing) and was the owner of Murray’s Work Clothes, both in Connersville. John was a charter member of Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching baseball, fishing, traveling, playing Wii, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughters, Georgia (Dennis) Wagers, Nancy Kay Napier, and Brenda (Don) Hart, all of Richmond; son, Jeff Murray of Connersville; grandchildren, Stacey (Troy) Caudill, Joshua (Angel) Wagers, Denny Wagers, Michael Killion, Mark “Tony” (Alice) Killion, Matthew (Amber) Killion, Miranda Isaac, Robyn (Brad) Wildman, Rachel (Nathaniel) Walters, Cole Murray, Kaitlyn (Gunnar) Adams, Joey (Karlee) Murray, Tristan (Bailey) Murray, and Hannah Murray; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Jean Ramsey Murray, who died November 21, 2016; grandson, Derik Hart; great-granddaughter, Haile Jordan Schuck; sisters, Della Smith, Mattie Black, and Nancy Fox; and brothers, Harvey, Charlie, R.G., and Bill Murray.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for John E. Murray will be private with Pastor Brian Hamilton and Pastor Dennis Wagers officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021, at https://www.facebook.com/FreedomMBC/. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
