John Bernard Beres, 83, of Arcanum, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2021, at the Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
He was born on January 31, 1938, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late John Beres and Agnes (Alspach) Beres.
John was a 1956 graduate of Barberton High School. After school he perused his insurance license and began working for Auto Owners as an insurance agent until he retired with 35 years of service. John was a part of the “Over the Hill Gang” car club, and enjoyed restoring older cars. He enjoyed meeting with the guys and enjoying a cup of coffee. When John was not working, you could find him enjoying his grandchildren and being with his family.
John is survived by his children, Rick Beres of Vale, North Carolina, and Danielle (Travis) Hosler of Arcamum; his step children, Dina Unger of Centerville, Ohio, Anndi Unger of Hopewell, Virginia, and Nita (Gary) Walker of Eaton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Tilley of Weddington, North Carolina, Kelly Beres of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brenden, Avery, Carter, and Owen Hosler, all of Arcanum; his great grandchildren, Layne, Graham, and Bryce Tilley; and his sister, Patricia Goodman of Dayton, Ohio.
A private celebration of John’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
