James R. Honeycutt, 81, of New Castle passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at Henry Community Health. He was born September 7, 1939 in Helenwood, Tennessee to the late James Matthew and Mable (Peddicord) Honeycutt.
After graduating from Huntsville High School in Hunstville, Tennessee, Jim joined the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960. He later retired from Chrysler Corporation. Jim was a 26-year devoted bus driver and member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church. He always welcomed the children on the bus with a piece of candy. He also enjoyed traveling in the family motor home.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Honeycutt; sons, Claude B. (Beverly) Honeycutt of Fortville, Ronald B. Honeycutt of New Castle, Dennis K. (Diana) Honeycutt of Anderson; grandchildren, Amy Rios, Jill, Kevin and Keith Honeycutt, 12 great grandchildren, brothers in law, James Rapp, Kenneth R. (Carol) McCarroll; and a nephew, Joe (Jessie) Rapp.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Jean Honeycutt Rapp and nephews, David and Danny Rapp.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Doug Keppel officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
