Frank Wesley Hayes, 82, of Hagerstown, died at his home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
He was born near Hagerstown on February 13, 1939 to Frank C. and Ruth E. (Pittman) Hayes and was a life long resident of the Hagerstown area. Frank graduated from Hagerstown High School and served with the US Army. After working many years as a truck driver, he retired following over 20 years as a custodian with Nettle Creek Schools. He was a member of American Legion Post 333, Moose Lodge #167 in Richmond, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Eaton, OH and National Rifle Association. Frank was an avid square dander.
Survivors include 3 children, Frank W. Hayes, III, Nancy A. Neal (Tim) and Tresa S. Hayes; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Maribelle Short, Robert D. Hayes. Sandra K. Pochurek and John C. Hayes; a special person, Carolyn S. Hayes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Della J. Garrett; a grandson and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 PM on Monday, September 27, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Pastor Rick Alvey will officiate. Burial will be in Nettle Creek Friends Cemetery.
