Elizabeth Jane “Liz” Moore, age 89, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, November 12, 2021, at Reid Health.
Liz was born August 26, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, to William and Margaret Benden. She worked as a dental assistant prior to coming to live in Richmond 26 years ago. Liz was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Outside of work, her hobbies included knitting and playing cards with friends. She enjoyed inviting others into her home and never knew a stranger. Liz will be remembered for cooking Sunday dinners and her deep love for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Chopra of Richmond, Kathy (Joe) Layden of Deer Park, New York, and Pattie Moore of Elwood, Indiana; sons, Michael (Susan) Moore of Middle Village, New York, and Daniel P. (Lisa) Moore of Middletown, New York; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, William T. Moore, who died June 9, 2004; parents; and sisters, Anna Teresa Saunders and Nora Fraher.
Visitation for Elizabeth Jane “Liz” Moore will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 815 West Main Street, Richmond, with Fr. Sengole Gnanaraj officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
