Connersville native, Donald Hadler, 78, died Monday, December 27, 2021 at his residence.
Donald was born on January 8, 1943 to Earl and Francis H. Swango Hadler. At the very young age of 8, he started farming on the family farm, Hadler Farms. In 1961, he graduated from Connersville High School and served in the National Guard. He was employed at Dresser Roots for over 20 years. Donald was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the NRA, and had his own shooting range at his home. Donald was adventurous as he was a member of the Safari Club International; on one of his trips to Africa, he was charged by a full-grown elephant and hunted Cape Buffalo. In addition to Africa, Donald took hunting trips to Canada, Wyoming, Florida and Montana. Donald was published in newspapers numerous times including riding in a hot air balloon over the Fayette County Free Fair and being the first to cast his electoral vote. Donald was a proud member of the Milton Masonic Lodge 108.
Donald is survived by his son: Lance Hadler and his wife Terri of Connersville; daughter: Kelley Jo Davis and husband Jayson of Brewton, Alabama; sister: Carol Ott of Centerville; granddaughters: Hannah Hadler and Karastyn Bennett; grandsons: Kevin and Kyle Davis; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brother: Robert Hadler; sister: Maxine Carlton.
At the request of Donald, a private burial will be conducted at Union Cemetery Garden of Memories at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of your choice in Donald’s honor.
