Christopher L. Haynes, age 49, resident of Muncie, previously of New Castle, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at IU Ball Health in Muncie. He was born January 28, 1972 in Fort Leonard, Missouri, a son of Edra Wright and Michael Haynes and step-father, Gary Moore.
Christopher graduated from New Castle High School, class of 1991. He formerly worked at Fountain Town Forge and Pendleton Reformatory. He was Veteran of Desert Storm serving two years as a E4 Combat Engineer. Christopher enjoyed his dream car, Honda Civic. He enjoyed animals, especially his Rottweiler Willow, and his Mountain Fiest, Angel. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially friends he made during his term in Desert Storm. Chris had a passion for music and enjoyed listening to it all hours during the day.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather; the love of his life, Dorretta (Perry) Haynes, whom he married July 26, 1999; a son, Christopher Brighton “Bri” Haynes, Muncie, Indiana; a brother, Alex Moore of Muncie; a special aunt, Patty Hunt of Kennard, also, his aunt, Sheila Hudson of New Castle. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Michael Haynes; his grandparents, Geneva and Ernest Wright of New Castle; a special cousin, Scott Crabtree, his mother-in-law, Patricia Laymance.
Funeral Services will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle, Indiana. Friends may call 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., until service time at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the US Army, VFW and American Legion at the funeral home.
