Betty Becknell, age 83, of Richmond, Indiana passed away unexpectedly in her home on September 25, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Becknell of Dayton; her sister’s son Kevin Kerschner and his wife Beth of Dayton and some very treasured cousins. There was also a special place in Betty’s heart for the International Women’s Group
In Richmond and the Mothers Club in Trotwood, Ohio and the lasting friendships she made there.
A native of Ohio, Betty took great pleasure and comfort in living in Richmond for over 30 years. She graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School in Ohio in 1956 and married Walter Becknell a couple of years later. Betty loved art and took numerous art classes at the Dayton Art Institute. She worked for the Richmond Symphony in the 80’s and was a Personal Banker at Bank One in Richmond for 15 years.
Betty was a kind, caring, curious and independent woman with a great sense of style; a “first class lady” a dear friend recently said. She’d do anything for you. She was a beloved mother and friend to so many, she is already deeply missed.
Her daughter will be hosting an informal open house at Betty’s home in Richmond on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. If you can, please stop by.
In her memory, consider doing something kind for someone in need. That would have pleased Betty very much.
Riggle-Waltermann Funeral Home, Richmond.
