Barbara Ellen Prall, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 82 on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte.

Born October 27, 1938, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Edward and Thelma Williams Feltman, Barbara moved to Richmond as a young girl and lived there most of her life. She earned a BA from Earlham College and an MA in Education from Ball State University. Barbara worked as an elementary teacher at Centerville Elementary for 17 years and previously taught in Richmond Community Schools for nine years. On November 25, 1967, she married John Andrew Prall V, and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage together. After getting married, they moved into their lifetime home and raised their two children, Jennifer Lynn and John Andrew Prall VI. Barbara was an active member of the former St. John Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served in many other church ministries. She was also a member of Sigma Delta Pi Sorority and the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed going to the symphony and organ concerts, as well as eating out with friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and pets. In 2014, Barbara moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be near her daughter, Jennifer, but she longed to be back in Richmond, her lifelong hometown.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer (Jeff) Whisnant of Charlotte and J. Andrew (Jennifer) Prall of Austin, Texas, and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Emily Whisnant and Edward and John Andrew Prall VII.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Prall, who died October 11, 2011; parents; and sister, Judy Feltman.
