Adenna “Lois” Walton, age 89, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at The Leland Legacy Senior Community.
Born September 28, 1931, in Reges, Kentucky, to Isom and Emma Riddell Edwards, Lois lived in Richmond most of her life. She worked at several local insurance agencies for over 20 years. Lois was an active member of First Baptist Church in Richmond for more than 30 years and had enjoyed teaching the young adult Sunday school class. She loved music.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa (John) Davis of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, David Walton (Whitney Petitt) of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Christina Swenson, Joshua (Hope) Walton, Randall (Becky) Bullock, Ryan Bullock, Cole Walton, James Walton Jr., and Mariah Walton; six great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Ulric, Adalynn, Claire, Robert, and Rhyan; sister, Jody (John) Dillman of Lexington, Kentucky; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Marvin Walton, who died June 29, 2018; parents; and siblings, Betty Ford and Richard Edwards.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Leland staff and hospice nurse, Jamie, for the loving care they gave to Lois.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for Adenna “Lois” Walton will be private with her brother-in-law, John Dillman, officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at https://www.facebook.com/FirstBaptistRichmondIN. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
