William Aaron “Bill” Farno age 62, a resident of New Castle, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, IN.
He was born March 22, 1958 in Indianapolis a son of the late William H. and Sondra Kay Ware Farno. Bill was a 1977 graduate of Whiteland High School. He was raised in Whiteland and had lived in Indianapolis for many years before moving to New Castle in 1992. He served a year enlistment with the U.S Army for 3 years and was stationed in Germany. He was a recipient of several military awards and recognitions. He had worked for Grede Foundry in New Castle for many years. Bill loved family activities, and was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers Football and was a fan of NASCAR racing and also liked to go fishing. Bill will be remembered as a hard working man with an outstanding work ethic.
Left to cherish his loving memory include his wife Leslee Farno whom he married in 1992. 1 daughter Natalie Sells of Martinsville and 3 step children Karen Modlin (husband Robert) of New Castle, Troy Sharp (wife Christina) of Muncie, Todd Sharp of Muncie. Grandchildren Conner, Carson and Cameron Sells all of Matinsville, James Modlin, Ryan Nicholson, Devin Nicholson, Shaina Nicholson, Karly Underwood (husband Jake), Hope Sharp, Kadene Brandenburg, Piper Brandenburg. 4 brothers James Farno (wife Carol) of Whiteland, IN., Robert Farno (wife Cheryl) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jeffery Farno (wife Maria) of Miramar, Florida, Ron Lewis (wife Elaine) of Indianapolis. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son in law Donnie Nicholson.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Macer-Hall Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, Broad Street Chapel. Friends may call from 12pm-2pm Thursday prior to service. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Garden. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
