Terry Dean Miller, 77, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Hickory Creek of Connersville.
Terry was born to Walter C. and Osa M. Collom Miller on November 3, 1943 in Clinton, Indiana. He graduated from Newport High School in 1961. Immediately after graduating, Terry joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1961-1971. Including a tour in the Vietnam war in Thailand resulting in several medals and his life-long love of aircrafts. He was also a member of the Commemorative Air Force. He worked for Public Service of Indiana/ Cinergy/ Duke, retiring after 35 years with the traveling maintenance department. Terry’s fondness for a slice of Pecan Pie accompanied by a cup of hot black coffee, resulted in a friendship with many waitresses in his work travels. An avid racing enthusiast after his retirement, he volunteered at the Terre Haute Action Track working as a member of their safety crew during the sprint car races. As a member of the Lions Club of Newport, Indiana he participated with Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb, the oldest racing event in the state of Indiana. He was proud of his 1950 Packard. Terry loved country, bluegrass music and attending Willie Nelson concerts with his son, Troy. He would do anything for a friend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Tom Miller; sister: Shirley Peterson.
Terry is survived by his five children: Kenda and husband Donnie Myers, Ben Burdett and wife Danielle, Troy Miller and Jennifer, Stacey and husband Joseph Reynolds, Jennifer Miller; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Carol Shell, Sarah Mullen.
At the request of the family, private services will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Creek in Terry’s honor and sent to Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, 920 N. Central Avenue, Connersville, Indiana 47331.
