Sarah E. “Betty” Darrah, 94, formerly of Bentonville, currently residing in New Palestine to be near her family, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2020, at Cypress Run of Morristown, Indiana.
She was born September 19, 1925 in Wayne County, Indiana, one of eleven children of Charles Robert and Gertrude Mae (Cain) Cox.
She attended school in Centerville, graduating from Centerville High School in 1938.
On June 2, 1943, she was married in Tallahoma, Tennessee to Robert K. Darrah. Mr. Darrah passed away November 12, 2005.
She worked as a beautician for 60 years, owning Darrah Beauty Salon, and retiring in 2013.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Bentonville Fire Department Auxiliary.
In her leisure, Sarah enjoyed painting and crafts.
Survivors include a son, F. Dale (Becky) Darrah of New Palestine; three grandchildren, Andrew (Katherine) Darrah of Leavenworth, Kansas, Matthew (Sara) Darrah of New Palestine, and Jason Darrah of Cincinnati; five great-grandchildren, Kristen, Makayla, Austin, Evan, and Owen Darrah; two brothers, Robert (Jean) Cox of Fort Worth, Texas and Ward (Nancy) Cox of West Richfield, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Leon (Helen) Smith of Connersville and Alma McClurg of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 62 years, Robert Darrah, she is preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Darrah, Jr. who died February 5, 2019; six brothers, Francis Cox, Wade Cox, Ralph Cox, Donald Cox, Wilbur Cox, and Keith Cox.
Friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to the Bentonville Fire Department.
