Ruth E. Biddle Pennington, 86, of rural Fayette County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.

Ruth was born on February 5, 1934 in Bracken County, Kentucky to Edith Hazel and Ora Biddle. As a child, she moved to Cedar Grove, Indiana where she had fond memories growing up with her older brother.

She attended Whitewater High School; and after high school was employed at several businesses including Jay Garment Company, United States Playing Card Company, and Gennett Records.

On December 22, 1956, Ruth married Virgil Pennington in Brookville. They settled in Connersville raising three children whom she loved very much. Ruth and Virgil spent 56 years of marriage together before Virgil passed away on November 9, 2012.

In 1989, Ruth retired from Ford Motor Company after 22 years of service. Upon retirement, Ruth and Virgil enjoyed traveling all around the United States, including trips to Hawaii and Alaska. They also traveled to Canada.

While Ruth loved watching her children grow, nothing compared to the joy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her. Spending time with her family was what she loved most of all, and they will miss her dearly. Ruth enjoyed participating in church events and singing in the choir at Connersville Baptist Temple, where she was a founding member before becoming a member of Milton Christian Church on June 3, 2018. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Randall K. Pennington of Connersville and Ricky W. Pennington of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jasper) Hensley of Milton, Jessi (Jimmy) Murphy of Connersville, Chester “Buddy” Gibbs, Jr. of Milton, and Karla Beltran of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Bryce Gibbs, Trey and Virgil Grizzell, all of Milton, Alex and Levi Beltran, Laura and Amaya Beltran all of Indianapolis; several brothers and sisters-in-law; a son-in-law, Steve Metcalf of Milton; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Dunaway; a brother, Darrell Biddle; two nieces; several brothers and sisters-in-law.
