Richard W. Winters, age 44, of Richmond, Indiana, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 23, 2020, at his home.
Born June 23, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Sharon Lucille Bicknell Winters, Rick lived in Richmond most of his life. He was a 1994 graduate of Richmond High School, where he was a student manager for football, track, and the 1992 State Championship basketball team. Rick worked at Burger King, Long John Silver’s, Cinram, and J&J Packaging. He was a member and Past Master of the Whitewater Lodge No. 159, F. & A.M.; Worthy Patron of Order of the Eastern Star #49; and a Sir Knight and Past Master of the Richmond Commandery No. 8 of the York Rite. Rick was a Knight of the York Cross of Honour and Arch Officer of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons. He was a past fire chief of the Tarum Shrine Fire Department. Rick enjoyed watching and collecting wrestling memorabilia.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Kendall; siblings, David E. (Maria) Winters Jr., Trina Winters, and Pamela S. (Coy) Adams; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dale Kendall and godfather, Connie Marker.
Private memorial service for Richard W. Winters will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
