Michelle C Dale, 55, of Hagerstown, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 29th, at her home.
Michelle was born September 16, 1965 in Ukiah, California to Garland and Shirley Holder.
In 1985 Michelle met and married her husband of 35 years, James A. Dale, while he was serving in the Marine Corps in California. They moved to Indiana in 1991 to open Michelle’s Place, a restaurant that became a town staple. They would go on to own New Paris Market and J&M Mini Mart for several years. The pair ultimately followed their passion and went back to the food industry, owning and operating The Green Bean food trailer. Michelle always had a can-do attitude and was never afraid of hard work.
Among cooking and baking, Michelle enjoyed deer and mushroom hunting, playing bingo and thrifting.
Above all else, Michelle was very dedicated to her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and made sure her family had everything they needed and would do anything to make it happen. Family came first to her, and she taught those values as well as she practiced them. Due to her family attitude, her family grew. Her children’s friends called her “mama” and knew they were always welcome in her home. Michelle will be lovingly remembered by her husband and children and dearly missed by her grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by her husband, James A. Dale, their two children, Shannon Eldridge (Eric) and J. Brandon Dale (Dava), two grandchildren, Hudson and Imogen, and siblings Norma, Belinda and Dean.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, January 4, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marcia Powell Art Scholarship fund at the American Legion Post 333.
