Mary Beth Chergosky, 82, formerly of Connersville, passed away Saturday evening, June 6, 2020, at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis.

The only child of Carl A. and Grace Davis Donahey, Mary Beth was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 10, 1937. She earned her degree in nursing from St. Ambrose College, Davenport, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1958.

On September 6, 1958, Mary Beth married Martin M. Chergosky in St. Mary’s Church, Streator, Illinois. Mr. Chergosky survives.

Primarily a homemaker, Mary Beth cared for her family while working in home health care and local nursing homes.

While living in Connersville, Mary Beth helped establish the Fayette County Blood Drive and was a founding member of RSVP in the 1970s. She was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, needle work and sewing, participating in bridge clubs, and fishing. Mary Beth was also an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds baseball.

Besides her husband of 61 years, Marty Chergosky, survivors include five children, Michael Anthony (Cindy) Chergosky of Greenwood, Mary Helen King, Meg (Steven) Ward, all of Indianapolis, John (Lina) Chergosky of Medford, Oregon, and Kate (Tim) Conrad of Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren, Michael and Kevin King, Carolyn Huffman, Margo and Matthew Ward, Cody Pletcher, Ryan, Layla, Chalis, and Audrina Chergosky, Jack and Chloe Conrad, Soranah and Cal-rae Denny; and three great-grandchildren.
Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Elizabeth Grace Pletcher.

The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until the time of prayer service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Reverend Dustin Boehm will officiate.
